ERM was engaged by D&B Mining Pty Ltd (D&B) to prepare an exploration project valuation opinion for its Balfour project in northwestern Tasmania, Australia.

The project is in a sparsely populated region of northwestern Tasmania. Five exploration licences and one mining lease are 100% held by D&B Mining or associated companies.
Mesoproterozoic (~1.45Ga) siliciclastic metasediments assigned to the Rocky Cape Group outcrop across the Balfour project tenements, which cover over 70 km of strike of a regional-scale geological structure associated with numerous documented occurrences of copper, tin, gold and other metals. Exploration has delineated an Inferred Mineral Resource. More than 110 further targets are at varied stages of testing. The Balfour project is situated within a Tasmanian Government declared strategic prospectivity zone, which provides additional security against potential changes to land access conditions.
Much of the Balfour Project Area falls within the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area with smaller areas within the Sumac Regional Reserve and the Donaldson River Nature Recreation Area which are managed by the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service. Portions of the north and western parts of the Balfour Project Area cover either Permanent Timber Production Zone Land and Future Potential Production Forest managed by Sustainable Timber Tasmania. All these areas are available for appropriately managed exploration and mining.
